What is a microchip and why is it so important?

Itโ€™s basically a permanent form of identification for your pet. Collars are great but in unexpected circumstances, they can be taken off or fall off. If you ever have the unfortunate event of your pet running away or being taken from you unwillingly, microchips can mean the difference of your pet being lost or found. One of the first things an Animal Hospital will do when receiving a lost pet is checked if it has been microchipped.

Being an AAHA accredited Animal Hospital, we highly recommend each client microchip their pet.
Especially living in Florida, many pets were found and reunited with their owners after the hurricane because of a microchip. It makes it much easier, quicker, and safer to find the petโ€™s family.
